It’s that time, again! I finally took my kids back-to-school shopping (yes, ALL of them at the same time, I’m still not quite over it) which means the “seasonal changing of the drawers and closets” will now begin.
When I sit down with each of my kids and literally go through every piece of clothing, making sure they fit, if they still like it and whether it’s worth saving (or not!)
Then my middle girl came home from her first girl scout meeting for the year and announced that she needed a pair of jeans for a craft project and it was one of the few times we were thankful for not having cleaned out our garage.
The girls recycled old denim blue jeans into personalized back-to-school jean pocket locker magnets:
- Pick a pair of jeans (any size) and cut out the back pockets (be sure to cut extra material around the entire pocket, you can trim it up later)
- Using a hot glue gun (be careful!) decorate the front with beads, sequins, rhinestones, etc.
- Personalize it with fabric paint or glitter.
- Let dry before adhering a magnet strip to the back (self-adhesive strips are available at craft stores!)
It was so fun and easy (i.e. no sewing involved) we made another for our fridge at home, too.
